Billing

To continue to deliver sustainable medical care to our community there will be a fee payable for every appointment from 5th June 2023. This includes Telehealth, nursing appointments and follow up appointments. 

Please note as of the 1st November 2023 there will be a 7% fee increase.

Exceptions to this are

• Children under 12 years old.

• Patients under palliative care.

• Care Plans. Who is eligible for a care plan?

• Annual >75 Health Assessments. Who is eligible for a health assessment?

Face-to-face and Phone Consultations

Standard consultation
1-2 issues (15 min) - $91

Longer consultation 
including Mental Health Care Plans - from $161

All pathology and imaging requests require a formal appointment to discuss results. Please book this at the time of arranging / booking your investigations / tests. All follow up consultations incur the same fee as standard appointments. 

Fees apply to appointments with the nurse. 

Medicare rebates are paid back into your account. The amount varies depending on the content of your consultation. Please ask your doctor what the expected rebate is for your visit. 

Medicare will be making changes to some fees in November 2023. Stay tuned for more information. 

Cancellations

Urunga Medical Centre requires all cancellations to be made at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled appointment.

Failure to attend your confirmed and booked appointment will incur a fee of $91.
Non-attendance for long consults and procedures will be billed accordingly regardless of confirmation.

If you are unable to attend your appointment please contact the rooms in a timely manner.
